Buuloburde town in Hiiraan province is on the brink that Al-Shabab militants will re-impose the blockade after the militant group seized the control of settlements that are under the district of Buuloburde.

Al-Shabab militants are reinforcing their presence in the east of Hiiraan province after Somali National Army (SNA) vacated settlement that were important for the protection of the security of the province.

Somali National Army (SNA) and Ma’awisley Forces have vacated outposts in which the militant group of Al-Shabab reinforced their presence in mountain areas surrounding Yasooman settlement which paved the way for the militant group to take full control of these areas.

The Somali troops fought hard and liberated the militant group of Al-Shabab from the mountain areas.

Al-Shabab’s seizure of Yasooman settlement has led the closure of a major road connecting Moqokori and Mahaas towns.

Al-Shabab militants are closing in on blocking the road that connects Buuloburde and Halgan which goes to Beledweyne.

Al-shabab militants stationed in Aboorey settlement have divide into two groups.

Part of them headed to Yasooman settlement while others went to the heart of the road which is nearby to Caag Bashiir.

Although the settlement is under Buuloburde, but it is located in between Buuloburde and Halgan towns.

Al-Shabab militants increased their movement on Wednesday afternoon after Somali troops and local forces tactically withdrew from Aboorey settlement which they fought hard against Al-shabab militants for eight days.

The blockade of Buuloburde is another obstacle if the Somali Federal Gov’t does not respond and take measures to prevent the militant group to impose the blockade on Buuloburde once again.
