At least two children confirmed dead and another person sustained injuries after a fighting broke out between Danab Commandos and a senior Al-Shabab member as reported by Radio Shabelle.
The fighting erupted in Baladul-Amin settlement in Lower Shabelle region after Danab Commandos raided the residence of senior Al-Shabab member named Mohamed Abuukar.
An eyewitness told Radio Shabelle that the senior Al-Shabab member Mohamed Abuukar opened fire on Danab Commandos and escaped from the area.
His daughter sustained injuries and his two grandsons died.
The soldiers who conducted the operation jumped out from a helicopter that departed from Balidoogle settlement in Lower Shabelle province which lies 90 km North West of Mogadishu.
The number of casualties from Danab Commandos are not known.
The operation took place last night and targeted the senior Al-Shabab member in Baladul-Amin settlenment in Lower Shabelle province.
