Somaliland is participating the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations conference on the human environment– the 1972 Stockholm Conference, the Republic of Somaliland is among participants at the Stockholm+50 2022 Conference.
Stockholm+50 is an international meeting convened by the United Nations General Assembly to be held in Stockholm, Sweden from 2-3 June 2022.
The UNDP has spearheaded the facilitation of Somaliland’s participation of the high-level meeting that scheduled to be held in Stockholm which SL is expected to send a high-powered delegation.
This was disclosed by the Director General at the ministry of environment and rural development Abdikarin Aden Adde in Hargeisa.
The high-level meeting comes at a time when Somaliland is experiencing recurring droughts that impacted on rural communities and the livestock.
