Somaliland on Tuesday marked its 30th Independence anniversary in a colorful event held at the presidential palace. The event was attended by president of the republic of SL H.E Musa Bihi Abdi, Vice President, Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail, the speakers of house of elders and representative. the Chief Justice, and members of the cabinet, the leaders of the three political parties, parliamentarians. the ambassadors of Ethiopia, Djibouti, UAE, Turkey and Taiwan to the republic of Somaliland, int’l delegates from Somaliland’s friendly countries, various communities, academicians, women, youth and various dignitaries.
The commemoration of the National Day of the republic of SL featured a variety of literature and theatre that reflect the stages that the republic of SL has gone through in its 30 years since its independence, the important value of freedom and nationalism and the progress it has so far made.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E Musa Bihi Abdi delivered a long and touching speech in which he spoke in depth about the stages that SL has gone through, the significant progress it has made and it is long term vision.
The president said the it is a day of peace, security, development and a system of governance based on the will and aspirations of the people of SL.
The president noted that SL is at a stage of development and full democracy and has achieved great success in all the basic services of life, education, health, water and the goal is to get full recognition from the int’l community.
While speaking on the current face off between Israel and Palestine, the president strongly condemned the atrocities committed against the Palestinians and sent clear and courageous message to the hostile Benyamin Netanyahu regime.
