In the 22nd ministerial meeting chaired by the president of Somaliland H.E Musa Bihi Abdi and his deputy H.E Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismael (Sayli’i) listened to the2019 budget committee which is chaired by the minister of education and the civil service commission chairman. The budget committee informed the cabinet that the 2019 budget has been prepared in a modern way using a new financial system that has never before been used in Somaliland.
The minister of education Mr.Yassin Faraton confirmed that his ministry received scholarship from the federal government of Ethiopia and they have been disbursed in a fair inclusive manner.
The chairman of the civil service commission Mr.Sharmake Ahmed Muhumed revealed that many ghost workers have been removed from the government payroll. He went on to state that the qualities of government employees have gone up following the government plan of always advancing their knowledge.
The cabinet thanked the federal of Ethiopia for assisting Somaliland to upgrade the education of her people. They also congratulated the students who had won the scholarships to study in Ethiopia.
The cabinet deliberated the following points…..
- Government education scholarship within the country or abroad should be given to the minority clan Gaboye so that they can be at par with other people of Somaliland.
- The civil servant in the 2018 payroll should go to their respective government departments.
- Workers with grade D who their names wrongly spelt let them be corrected so that they could receive their salaries.
- Grade D workers who work temporarily should be made permanent staff.
