Somalia’s government has halted all inter cities local flights around the country as a measure to combat the spread of Coronavirus in Somalia.
The government official spokesman Mukhtar Omar has announced that the Federal Government of Somalia has suspended on temporary basis all local air transports across Somalia in order to combat the spread of COVID-19.
The temporary ban of local flights in Somalia will take into effect on Sunday (tomorrow) 29th March 2020, and will last for a period of that has not been cited in the twitter post.
Somalia has taken strict measures to combat the spread of COVID-19: stopping all commercial international flights to Somalia, closing all learning centers, banning all large gatherings for 2 weeks to help reduce the spread of the deadly virus.
Somalia has recorded three confirmed cases of the COVID-19 and is reported to have quarantined almost ten people that have traveled to countries worst hit by the COVID-19.
