Senior Somali police officer has escaped a roadside bomb attack unharmed after the blast has wounded two of his security guards.
The attack happened on Sunday in Waberi district of restive Benadir region targeting, Ali Hirsi Barise (Gaab) the head of health department of Somali police.
He escaped death after his vehicle hit roadside bomb that occurred at Benadir junction on last Wednesday, killing three of his bodyguards.
The explosion on Sunday occurred at Aviazone neighborhood in the Capital’s Waberi district and sent massive plumes of smoke.
No group has claimed the responsibility of carrying out the attack but the government attributes Al-shabab militants to be responsible of carrying such attacks on government officials.
