Somali embassy in Pakistan repatriates 117 Somalia nationals

Somali embassy in Pakistan has repatriated 117 nationals who were stranded in Pakistan in recent months due to outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

The Pakistani government has lifted ban on international flights and taking advantage of this chance, the Somali government has commenced to evacuate its nationals who were stranded there since the lock-down. Most of those who were evacuated from Pakistan are students who were studying at the universities there. The Somali ambassador to Pakistan, Ms. Khadijo Mohamed AlMaqsumi, has said in a statement that all praise is due to Allah who has made easier the repatriation of 117 Somali citizens from Pakistan and have arrived safely back home. Somalia evacuated its nationals from Kenya who were stuck there due to the lock-down. Hundreds of Somali nationals are stranded in overseas due to the travel restrictions of Covid-19.
