The Somali National Army (SNA) backed by the Ma’awisley local defense forces inflicted heavy defeat on Al-Shabab after fierce fighting took place in Mabaah and Gaya’ad settlements in Hiiraan province.
A statement from the ministry of information of the Somali Federal Gov’t confirmed that more than 20 Al-Shabab fighters were killed in the armed clashes while more than that were wounded.
The Somali National Army (SNA) are currently conducting operations which are aimed to pursue Al-shabab remnants in order to wipe out Al-Shabab fighters who are trying to flee.
The Somali Federal Gov’t once again reiterated its commitment to defend the Somali populace, safeguard the unity of the nation, and the eradication of the terrorist group of Al-Shabab that are accustomed to shed the blood of the Somali populace.
