The head of state H.E Musa Bihi Abdi has met with members of the Somaliland Manufacturers’ Association (SLMA). The SLMA committee paid a courtesy call on the president at his residence in the presidential mansion. They were on a mission to voice their concern over a recent decree by the president to stop waiver of tax on manufacturers.
Also present at the meeting was the minister of finance and his commerce, industry and tourism counterpart.
According to sources privy to the conference confirmed that the agenda of the meeting pertained reinstatement of the tax waiver on the country industrialists to catalyze development of the country through creation of employment. It was agreed that the government will look into the subsidization for the manufacturers’ imports. The Somaliland Chambers of Commerce and Industry top officials initiated the meeting.
