Addis Ababa, September 13, 2018 – Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed today held talks with South Sudanese President Salva Kiir here at his office.
Their discussion focused on current situation in South Sudan and ways to implement immediately the revitalized peace agreement yesterday signed in Addis Ababa by the rival parties.
All parties including President Salva Kiir and SPLM-IO leader Riek Machar, yesterday signed the last revitalized peace agreement, ending a five year-conflict in Africa’s youngest country.
President Kirr told journalists after the meeting that “we discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.”
When asked about Ethiopia’s role in the South Sudan peace process, he said “instrumental.”
