Norway has decided to resume financial assistance with Somaliland slated for Somaliland Development Fund (SDF) which it suspended recently.
This was disclosed during a high-level meeting between Somaliland President H.E Musa Bihi Abdi, Vice President Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail alias “Sayli’i”, Norwegian envoy to Somalia, Ms. Elin Bergithe Rognlie and flanked by official from the ministry of foreign affairs particularly the peace and mediation department.
Norwegian envoy, Ms. Elin Bergithe said the financial assistance that was stopped will now continue from now on.
Head of SL mission to Norway, Mr. Mohmed Mohmud Adan who is currently in Hargeisa attended the high level meeting between Norwegian delegation and SL president.
Norway could provide financial assistance to greater projects and other development works prioritized by Somaliland government.
President Bihi affirmed that the financial support that Norway provided in the past made a big difference in terms of the projects funded from the SDF with the financial contribution of Norway.
