The Jubaland regional authority recently showcased newly trained combat soldiers in Raskamboni settlement in the Lower Jubba region. These soldiers completed a high-level military training and will now be part of Jubaland’s security forces, stationed in the Badhaadhe district. The training was led by Jubaland’s Director of Intelligence and Security Agency, Hon. Mohamed Ahmed Sabrie, also known as Bassam. He urged the soldiers to carry out their duties diligently and stated that the training was intended to enhance the quality and operational capability of Jubaland’s security forces. These soldiers are part of the Hanqadh brigade and will bring new blood into Jubaland’s military command. According to Bassam, the training focused on equipping the soldiers with new skills to fight against AlShabab militants and strengthen security in the region. The ultimate goal is to bring Badhaadhe district under Jubaland’s control and maintain the security of settlements within the district. The statement from Jubaland also mentioned that these newly trained soldiers will play a role in promoting good governance, lasting stability, and providing future security for Jubaland residents. Raskamboni settlement, where the soldiers are stationed, has a history of intense clashes between Jubaland security forces and forces loyal to the Somali Federal Government. It was previously a base for Jubaland’s Dervish forces and will now be home to the newly trained combat soldiers, who will officially become part of Jubaland’s security forces.
