Djibouti President Appoints New Foreign Minister

The incumbent Djibouti President, Ismail Omar Guelleh, on Tuesday, issued a presidential decree in which he appointed Mr. Abdulkadir Hussein Omar as the country’s foreign minister and the official spokesman of the government of Djibouti.

Mr. Abdulkadir Hussein Omar has replaced Mr. Mahmoud Ali Yousuf who was elected the African Union Commission Chairperson.

Abdulkadir served as Djibouti ambassador to Kuwait.

He also served Djibouti’s foreign ministry.
