Daily Paper expands their spring/summer ’19 offering with a limited edition capsule in collaboration with Somalia’s Elman Peace organisation.
With each season’s delivery, Daily Paper has continually demonstrated a powerful level of thoughtfulness deep set in both their African roots. Societal empowerment and leadership have played important roles in the direction of SS19 as a means of promoting peace, and cultivating and showcasing talent. Produced as a natural progression and joint expression of these ideals, DP has linked up with Elman Peace, a Somalian non-profit organisation for a ten-piece collection.
Each of the ten white cotton T-shirts showcases unique artwork created by students residing at the Elman Peace residence and participating in their Art Therapy program. Ensuring each of the young artists – aged 13-16 – is recognised, each T-shirt is named after its designer.
Daily Paper is sending a strong message through this partnership, as these children have left armed groups and have been provided with a safe space and support system to help one another lead a better life. To do their part to keep the project alive, DP will be donating the full proceeds of the collection to the Art Therapy Program. Further cultivating a sense of community, the two teams have set out to build a full-sized football pitch for the Elman Peace residence, bringing the core values at the centre of the collaboration to life.
The Daily Paper x Elman Peace Capsule Collection is available now via select global retailers and Daily Paper’s physical and online store.
