A military court in Jubaland state sentenced two gov’t soldiers to five years in military jail for selling weapons to the al-Qeada-linked terrorist group of Alshabab.
The court held several hearings and finally found Mohamed Adan Sahal and Muse Mohamed Nur guilty of colluding with Alshabab militant group.
The chairman of the Armed Forces Court announced the verdict and said that the two soldiers will serve five years behind bars.
The court found that the duo were closely working with alshabab terrorist group covertly and sold weapons given in order to protect the civilians.
The chairman of Armed Forces Court, his two deputies, the Attorney General of Armed Forces and the families of the two soldiers were in attendance during court hearings.
The court displayed weapons the two soldiers sold to Alshabab but families returned the weapons to Jubaland state.
The convicted soldiers have the right to lodge an appeal over the verdict.
