Dictatorship and extension of tenure are claims by politicians, he says
Hargeisa – The President of Somaliland H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi has affirmed that he is ready for the holding of elections as scheduled.
The Head of State at the same time categorically denied claims being peddled that he wants to cling to power through extensions of tenure.
He pointed out that the claims were mere allegations by politicians. He noted that the government of Somaliland has already earmarked 10 million US dollars for the holding of the elections and that the fund has already been catered and budgeted for.
President Musa made expressed the sentiments in a France 24 television programme titled “Will the elections lead Somaliland to recognition” that was broadcasted on the 14th of April 2023.
“The government has planned 10 million dollars for this year’s elections”, said the president, and was emphatic that, “Dictatorship and extension are the talks of politicians, I don’t believe in that.
