Ministry of Health Development on Saturday banned imports and circulation of Valsartan, in a “precautionary step” over health concerns, a ministerial statement announced.
The Ministry has issued a circular ordering the recall of Valsartan and Balsam Pharmaceutical Company handed over to health ministry officials to 3020 cartons containing Valsartan and was burned.
The move to recall this drug is ongoing in nationwide and the ministry is urging all pharmacies and warehouses to bring the drug which contain impurities as reported by international heath organizations.
