Somali Army Recaptures key town from Alshabab

Somali National Army (SNA), backed by local clan fighters on Tuesday recaptured El-Baraf town from Alshabab militants after an operation.

The Somali troops managed to liberate the strategic town from Alshabab, following a successive military onslaught.

There were no reports of casualties from both sides during the military onslaught against the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group.

The group was in control of the town for the past days after the government forces left.

Alshabab militant group increased its attacks against gov’t troops based in Middle Shabelle region.

Alshabab took over El-Baraf and Miirrtaqwa districts in Middle Shabelle region.
