Reports from Beledweyne town in Hiiraan province say that the security forces shot dead an armed man last night.
The incident occurred nearby a large bridge which the security forces have outposts to protect the security of the town.
Reports confirm that the man was armed with a pistol and a hand grenade and that was responsible for the security forces to open fire and shot dead the man.
State media reported that the security forces thwarted an insecurity act that the man was planning to carry out in the town.
Officers of the security forces, Hiiraan regional and district authorities say that the man was a suspected Al-shabab member.
Beledwyne town youngsters were seen dragging through the streets the body telling that he was an Al-shabab member.
The security forces kill members of the militant group of Al-shabab in the towns and settlements.
The incident occurred at a time when the security forces are conducting operations in parts of Hiiraan region against the militant group of Al-Shabab.
Al-Shabab militants carried out attacks which were aimed to create insecurity in settlements in Hirshabelle provinces.
