Puntland on Sunday sent military experts to the front lines in the Calkismaad frontlines where its troops are fighting against ISIS militants. The military expert’s mission is to lay military operation strategy for the final phase of operations aimed at flushing out ISIS militants from its stronghold. The officers deployed in the frontlines include Gen. Mohamed Said Morgan, who was a former officer of Somalia’s National Army, and Gen. Bashir Amerika, former Police Commissioner and other security experts. The mission of the experts is to decrease the loss of Puntland troops during the skirmishes with ISIS. Puntland lost more than 100 soldiers and scores of officers in the operations aimed at flushing out ISIS from the region. Videos were circulated on social media showing the military officials engaging in operational planning, signaling intensified efforts and wrapping up the offensive. The Puntland State government continues to reinforce its military campaign, claiming that hundreds of ISIS militants have been eliminated in combat operations since December. Authorities remain focused on eliminating the remaining insurgents as they advance into the final phase of the military offensive
