U.S. Africa Command in coordination with National Intelligence and Security Agency conducted airstrikes destroying bomb-laden vehicles belonging to Alshabab militant group.
The airstrikes targeted in Sigato and Lebi Aw Xasan which locate between Ruuni-nirgood and Alkawthar districts in Middle Shabelle region.
Alshabab fighters on board of the bomb-laden vehicles were also killed.
The initial plan was that Alshabab would attack a mosque in Alkawthar district with one of the bomb-laden vehicles.
NISA said in the statement that Alshabab militant group previously attacked several mosques that located in El Ali Ahmed, Daaru-Nimca, Buulo Burte and Qaayib districts detonating bomb-laden vehicles.
NISA further added that it is committed to target Alshabab fighters who are intending to do harm to the Somali populace.
With the support of allied friends in the world, NISA intensified its operations by carrying out airstrikes in a bid to eliminate the threat posed by Alshabab terrorist groups to the Somali populace.
