The National Army has captured prisoners of war who are fighting terrorists and PSF forces in Puntland, says Information Minister
The government of Somaliland said that it has captured many prisoners, from several assorted origins, it described as terrorists, the special forces of Puntland known as PSF and militias from the areas of the Sool region.
The Minister of Cultural Information and Awareness of Somaliland Hon. Suleiman Yusuf Ali Koore, said this in a brief statement on Wednesday.
Minister Koore revealed that they released casualty prisoners who sustained injuries to the custody of their relatives.
He said, “The National Army of the Republic of Somaliland, which is defending itself against attacks from terrorist groups, has captured prisoners of war who are among terrorists, PSF forces of the Puntland State Administration and local people who have gone astray.
“The government of the Republic of Somaliland has released the prisoners born in the area and who sustained injuries in the battles to their next of kin”.
