Reports from Aboorey settlement which is under the administration of Buuloburde district in Hiiraan region say that heavy fighting broke out on Wednesday afternoon between local Ma’awisley forces and Al-Shabab fighters.
The fighting erupted after local militia fighters have launched an assault against Al-Shabab fighters from multiple directions.
Al-Shabab fighters were stationed in Aboorey settlement for the past couple of days.
Reports further indicate that fierce fighting ensued between local Ma’awisley forces and Al-Shabab fighters
The two sides used all kinds of heavy weapons and the gunfire could be heard in remote settlement from Aboorey.
Details are sketchy pertaining the number of casualties including deaths and injuries from both sides.
The attack follows an earlier assault in which local Ma’awsiley forces attacked Al-shabab fighters in Aboorey settlement yesterday.
The fierce fighting occurred in Aboorey settlement for the past couple of weeks in which local Ma’awisley forces were trying to drive out Al-Shabab fighters from the settlement which is very strategic.
Reports indicate that Al-Shabab fighters are concentrating to keep the settlement under their control.
