A high level meeting which is aimed at combating wildlife crime & cheetah trafficking kicked off in Jigjiga, Ethiopia’s Somali state administrative capital yesterday.
Delegates from Somaliland, Somali state as well as officials from Ethiopia’s federal government are in attendance.
The two sides will discuss means to establish robust cooperation against the fight of illegal wildlife trade which is rampant in the border areas.
During the two day meeting, the two sides are expected to release directives which are aimed at preventing the wildlife smuggling in Somaliland and Somali state in Ethiopia.
Somaliland’s wildlife is facing extinction threat from illegal trade and poachers which are widespread in Somaliland.
