While in collaboration with the Somali Federal Gov’t, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) on Tuesday carried out an airstrike on an area that lies 40 miles from Kismayo which targeted Al-Shabab fighters.
The airstrike is part of joint efforts which area aimed to eradicate the militant group of Al-shabab that are planning to carry out attacks which pose a threat to the Somali populace, the Somali Armed Forces and friends in the world.
The Somali Federal Gov’t expresses deep thanks and appreciations to (AFRICOM), and reiterates its commitment when it comes to the fight against terrorist groups in conjunction with the Somali populace and the world friends in order to ensure peace stability in the country.
