The former Somali President, Sheikh Shariif Sheikh Ahmed is holding crucial meetings in Mogadishu.
He met and held discussions with Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Alper Aktas.
The two sides discussed the current situation in the country and the political stalemate.
Their discussions focused on the support that Turkey provides to Somalia, disputed elections and the fight against terrorism.
Sheikh Shariif expressed thanks to Turkish gov’t for the unwavering support it provides with Somalia.
The meeting comes at a time when all opposition politicians arrived in Mogadishu in which they strongly oppose the elections that the current gov’t is due to hold in the country.
