U.S. Africa Command on Saturday carried out airstrikes in Al-Miskaad Mountain range in Bari province, targeting Daesh terrorists who were regrouping there.
The number of casualties in the wake of the airstrike are not known.
The airstrike targeted Daesh bases in Togga Miiraale which is believed that Daesh senior leaders are stationed there.
The operation is part of U.S. efforts to weaken the operational capacity of the terrorist groups which pose a security threat.
U.S. Africa Command conducted an airstrike in Togga Miiraale on 25 March, 2025, killing several Daesh fighters.
The corpses of Deash fighter killed in the airstrike were discovered in the trenches.
The U.S. said that it will target the terrorist groups that pose a real threat to the national security of the United States and surged the airstrikes against Daesh fighters in Al-Misakaad mountain.
Puntland authority in Somalia believe that Deash fighters were flushed out most of Al-Miskaad Mountain range and are regrouping in Togga Miiraale which is nearby to Bosaso.
Togga Miiraale is said to be a remote area which is quite hard for combat vehicles to reach.
Deash fighters placed IED’s on the roads leading to Togga Miiraale which a stronghold for Daesh fighters.
