Southwest State Dervish Forces carried out an operation against the militant group’s bases in Qansaxdheere town in Bay region.
The Dervish Forces have killed senior Al-Shabab leaders and fighters during the anti-terrorism operations who were stationed in the outskirts of Qansaxdheere town.
The Commanders of the Dervish Forces in Southwest State have confirmed to the media that Al-Shabab leader who was responsible for collecting sakawat and his fighters were killed in the operation but did not reveal the names of AL-Shabab leaders.
The Security Forces have confiscated a motorbike carrying rations that the militant group forcibly took from the local residents in Qansaxdheere and its surrounding areas.
The operation comes after Somali Military Command announced that Al-Shabab militants have relocated to Bay and Bakool regions after they were defeated badly in the ongoing war in Middle Shabelle region.
