The Commander of the Military Police Force lieutenant Adan Jeele who spoke to the media briefed on the last operations that troops conducted in the capital Mogadishu and its environs.
The Commander said that they lost soldiers and officers of the military police during the holy month of Ramadan.
He said that they were killed in the recent operations. Military police force are tasked to maintain security and restore law and order to the capital Mogadishu and its environs.
He prayed for those brave soldiers and officers who killed in line of duty to rest in heaven.
The Commander has not disclosed the number of soldiers and officers killed while on duty.
He said: ” During the holy month of Ramadan, we lost soldiers and officers and they are martyrs. They fought in order to protect the well-being of Somali residents in Mogadishu and its environs.”
He underscored that the military police force have reached victory while the residents completed their 30 day fasting in a peaceful manner.
He said: ” For the past 30 days each and everyone of us did not sleep or rest and we were on duty round the clock. We were on duty to diligently execute our national duties. We have reached a victory once the Somali residents in Mogadishu peacefully completed their fasting in the holy month of Ramadan. I thank the almighty Allah.”
He conveyed a message to the residents in Mogadishu.
He requested to cooperate on maintaining the national security and in order to prevent acts of terrorism that may disrupt the security and stability of the capital Mogadishu.
It was quite hard for the militant group of Al-Shabab to carry out explosions and assassinations in the capital.
