Somaliland Army Chief Major General Nima’an Yusuf Osman and accompanied by the minister of defense, Mr. Mohamed Yusuf, the minister of road transport, Osman Afgab, and Sanaag regional governor Ahmed Abdi Muse, yesterday paid an inspection tour to the military training camp dubbed Bixin, which is located in El-Afweyn in Sanaag province.
The newly nationalized units of clan militia are currently in the camp and are receiving military training. Once they accomplish, they will be absorbed into the national army.
The Army Chief praised the units of clan militia who are being trained in the camp in order to be part and parcel of the Somalialnd’s armed forces. General Nima’an told the trainees that they will have the rights that the armed forces have from now on. The Ministers of Defense, the road transport, they told the trainees once they complete the training, they will absorbed into the armed forces. They said that the nationalization of the clan militia is a top a priority for the current administration headed by the incumbent Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro. They further told that the reason for the nationalization is to have a unified national army. Sanaag regional governor, Ahmed Abdi Muse, commended the trainees for participating the training. He urged them to gain knowledge and experience during the training.
