NISA Conducts an airstrike against the militant group, killing 21 Al-Shabab members

National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in conjunction with Somali National Army (SNA), carried out an airstrike targeting Al-shabab hideouts.

The airstrike was conducted in Ceelgub in Middle Shabelle province, killing 21 Al-Shabab members including senior leaders.

NISA said in the statement that the operation was conducted as it was planned and the execution was quite precise.

The statement from NISA went on to say that the airstrike targeted Al-Shabab militants and heavy casualties were inflicted on the militant group as far as the operation is concerned.

The statement further added that Al-Shabab combat vehicles were destroyed in the airstrike.

NISA sent a stern warning to the Somali populace and informed them to stay away from Al-Shabab’s hideouts as airstrikes were intensified which were aimed to flush out Al-Shabab militants from the country.

According to the statement, the Somali gov’t has intensified its air assault against the militant group for the past weeks.

The militant group of Al-Shabab surged its relentless attacks against military bases housing the Somali troops in Middle Shabelle province.

Al-Shabab’s attacks met with strong resistance from the Somali army but the government is dragging its feet to surge ground assaults against the militant group.
