HARGEISA–Somaliland President, H.E Musa Bihi Abdi has received today Danish ambassador to Somalia, Mette Knudsen who is accompanied by Danida representative to Somaliland, Anne Elisabeth.
The two sides discussed on ways that Denmark to further increase aid earmarked for Somaliland Development Fund (SDF). The resumption of stalled talks between Somaliland and Somalia was also raised in the high level talks. Somaliland is making the necessary preparations to hold free and air parliament and local council polls slated to take place in the country by 2019 and Denmark was asked to contribute in terms of the funds. The regional peace and security was also discussed as Somaliland has made its clear stance in living side by side with its neighbors. Denmark envoy pledged to support Somaliland’s democracy and further promised to continue aid allocation to the country.
