BORAMA– The Minister for Agricultural Development, Ahmed Mumin Seed inaugurated earth water dam in Magalo Ad district in Awdal region on Thursday. The inauguration and handing over ceremony saw the participation of the minister for agricultural development, and deputy national planning minister, Hussein Ahmed Buuni. The earth dam was constructed and implemented by local organization by the name of Candle Light but it was funded by DVA, the Norwegian organization.
The minister for agricultural development made remarks at the opening ceremony of the earth dam where the farming community in Magalo Ad will benefit. Mr. Seed has reiterated in his speech that the government led by president Bihi is committed to increase local production and with that mission in place that he strove the realization of the earth water dam to be constructed.
It aims to exploit water resources for agricultural and livestock activities in regard to farming communities in Magalo Ad. The project is part of Somaliland’s commitment to support efforts to improve the country’s water and reach food sufficiency in a bid to spur local production in farming communities.
