Somaliland’s Election team in Somalia has released the timetable for senate elections following the unveiling of candidates on Tuesday.
According to a schedule registration and verification of candidates for the Upper House will commence on Thursday, the 23rd of Sept. and is expected to be wrapped up on Saturday 25th of Sept.
Voting will commence on Sept. 28 and will conclude on Sept 30th, although, the timeline has not clarified the exact number of seats will be elected per day.
The new schedule will also stated that the training of delegates who will choose the senators the senators of Upper House will take place Sept. 26th while the candidates will deliver the key not speeches before the delegates the following day.
On Tuesday the outgoing senate speaker Abdi Hashi and Deputy PM Mahdi Gulied presented the list of over 25 candidates who showed interest in SL’s senatorial seats to the PM Mohmed Hussein Roble.
