During the operation, the Danab Commandos conducted thorough search operations to ensure the security of the area and eliminate the threat posed by Al-Shabab. As a result, peace has been restored in these areas and the local population has warmly welcomed the troops, demonstrating their support for the ongoing operations to eliminate terrorists. They have also pledged to closely cooperate with the gallant Somali National Army (SNA) in order to ensure lasting security and stability in the Bay region. In addition, the Somali National Army (SNA), in close collaboration with local defense forces known as Ma’awisley, carried out a planned security operation yesterday at midnight. The operation targeted members of the militant group Al-Shabab who were based in the Goobo area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Mahaas district in Hiiraan province. This operation, which was also meticulously planned, aimed to eliminate Al-Shabab leaders who were plotting atrocities against the Somali people, particularly innocent civilians. The brave Somali troops, along with their local defense forces, received intelligence reports and launched a rapid attack that inflicted heavy casualties on Al-Shabab. The Commander of the 27th Division of the Somali National Army (SNA), Colonel Ali Agey, confirmed that one Al-Shabab leader was successfully eliminated in the operation.
