A planned operation successfully eliminated several Al-Shabab fighters in eastern Hiiraan region

The Somali National Army (SNA) conducted a planned operation in the eastern parts of the Hiiraan region, resulting in the killing of several Al-Shabab fighters, according to military officials. The operation took place in the Abaar Caano-weyn settlement, located between the Yasooman and Moqokori districts. The Somali troops ambushed a vehicle carrying Al-Shabab fighters, as reported by state media. Officers of the SNA reported that multiple fighters were killed and the vehicle was destroyed. Commander Ali Agey of the 27th Division of the SNA confirmed the success of the operation. The troops involved in the ambush have safely returned to their barracks and have seized military equipment left behind by the eliminated Al-Shabab fighters. This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the Somali government to weaken Al-Shabab’s operational capabilities. Similar operations are also being carried out in other areas of Hiiraan and other regions in the country.
