Somali Prime Minister Arrives in Lasanod

A delegation headed by Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamze Abdi Barre on Saturday arrived in Sool’s regional capital Lasanaod.

The Prime Minister and his delegation was welcomed by head of Lasanod regional authority, Abdikadir Firdhiye, other regional officials and sects of Lasanod community.

The PM is accompanied by members of his cabinet, Members of Somalia’s Federal Parliament, and officials of Somali Federal gov’t.

The visit will last for two days.

During his stay in Lasanod, the PM is due to hold meetings with head of Sool’s regional authority, traditional elders and members of community in Lasanod.

The Prime Minister will open development projects that the Somali Federal Gov’t implemented in Lasanod.

He will also lay the foundation stone of new development projects in Lasanod.

The Prime Minister, Hamze Abdi Barre will facilitate the prisoner swap between Lasanod authority and Somaliland government.

283 prisoners are currently in detention in Lasanod while 67 prisoners hailing from Sool region are in custody in Somaliland.

The Somali Prime Minister is expected to encourage Lasanod authority to expedite to form a regional administration that the Somali Federal Gov’t will officially recognize as a Federal Member State.

Somaliland government was furious over the visit that the Somali Prime Minister embarked to Lasanod but alltheir calls fell on deaf ears.
