Somali national held in Feni border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a Somali national for attempting to enter Bangladesh illegally from India from border area at Parshuram upazila in Feni district on Saturday.

According to BGB, the arrested is identified as Abdiwali Mohammed Ali, son of Ali Mohammed.

According to BGB sources, a patrol team from Nijkalika Border Outpost (BOP) arrested the Somali national while he was crossing the border illegally from India to Bangladesh, from border pillar 2159/3.

The arrested individual has been handed over to Parshuram Model Police Station for violating The Foreigner Act 1946 under sections 3(2)(b)/13/14, along with the seized materials from his possession.

Confirming the incident, Feni BGB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain said that BGB’s ongoing operations and intelligence efforts continue to ensure border security, prevent smuggling, and stop illegal entries.

It is worth noting that previously, on March 19, a Nigerian national, along with a Sudanese woman and a Zambian national, were arrested by BGB patrol team.
