Ethiopia’s National Defense Forces (ENDF), levelled accusations againts Tigray’s top brass General that he is in cahoots with armed militia stationed in the Amhara province and the group waged attacks against military bases manned by Ethiopia’s defense forces.

According to a statement issued by Ethiopia’s army said that Brigadier General Migbe Haile who is among well-known Commanders of the Tigray aided and abetted attacks that Fano militia carried out in Amhara province.

He is the first that the Security Forces appointed him to be a senior official hailing from Tigray  region and who is implicated in the ongoing armed conflict in the Ahmara region.

Mr. Migbe rejected the accusations after he gave an interview to local media.

He revealed that he does not have ties with Eritrea.

Ethiopia recently accused members belonging to Tigray political party that they have links to the regime in Eritrea.

The incumbent Ethiopian PM, Abiy Ahmed, this week ruled out the possibility of Ethiopia engaging war with Eritrea which was a close ally.

Ethiopian defense forces claimed that they have killed more than 300 Fano militia fighters during attacks that occurred in the Amhara region.

However, Fano militia claimed that its fighters were victorious.
