Somali National Army & Local Ma’awsiley Forces Ambush Al-Shabab militants in nearby Nuur Dugle settlement in Middle Shaballe province

Reports from Middle Shabelle province say that the Somali National Army (SNA) backed by local defense forces on Saturday carried out an operation against the militant group of Al-shabab.

The planned operation took place in Nuur Dugle town particularly in Ceelka Ali Salaad area. The ambush attack targeted Al-shabab militants who were stationed in the area. The allied forces received the information in advance and ambushed the militant group of Al-shabab.

Reports say that the allied forces inflicted heavy casualties on the militant group of Al-shabab. One of the officers who led the operation told that they received the information that the militant group of Al-shabab were creating a new route and the allied forces immediately launched an attack against Al-shabab militants.

An officers of the Somali National Army (SNA) said: “We shed Al-shabab blood in the area. Nuur Dugle, Ceelka Ali Salaad and Huurweyne are peaceful.” He reiterated that heavy casualties were inflicted on the terrorist group and was badly defeated in the attack.

He said: “We ambushed the Al-shabab fighters and we wiped them out.” The situation is calm, and the Somali National Army and Local Ma’awisley forces are stationed in the area where the skirmishes occurred.

Nuur Dugle is a religious settlement in which local Ma’awisley forces are strongly defending in collaboration with Somali National Army (SNA).
