Reports from Hiiraan region say that the Commander of the 26th Battalion and the 27th Division of the Somali National Army (SNA) Colonel Abdirahman Hujaale was shot dead on Saturday.
A soldier of the Somali National Army (SNA) has opened fire at on the Commander.
The Incident occurred while the Commander was stationed in a military base in El-Gaal settlement in Hiiraan region.
Reliable sources said that the soldiers who were behind the assassination have grievances against the orders made by the Commander which caused internal conflict and subsequently resulted the assassination of the Commander.
Reports say that the Commander tried to resolve the complaints on salaries and operations that he was planning, but tension has run high which led the mutinied soldiers to open fire on the Commander and he died on the spot.
The security agencies and military officers are investigating the incident.
They said that some of the suspects who were behind the assassination were captured.
The Somali Military Command sent sincere condolences to the relatives and the family of the bereaved.
The Military Command pointed out that the Commander was a brave who stood up to defend his country.
