The Somali National Army (SNA) backed by local Ma’awisley forces last night conducted a planned operation which targeted an area that the militant group of Al-shabab were regrouping in Middle Shabelle Province.
The allied forces carried out the attacks on Tawfiiq and Geedi Xeyr villages.
The Somali National Army (SNA) backed by local Ma’awisley forces took control the villages under Masaajid Ali Guduud settlement in Middle Shabelle Province.
Officers who led the operation told the media that they got the information in advance that members of Al-shabab militants were regrouping in an area nearby the settlement of Masaajid Ali Guduud.
That has led the allied forces to launch the attack and took control the villages that the militant group of Al-shabab were regrouping.
Officers further said that several Al-shabab fighters were killed in the attack.
However, they have not given full details of the number of Al-Shabab fighters killed in the operation.
Reports say that the Somali National Army (SNA) and the local Ma’awsiley forces are conducting operations which are aimed to ensure the security.
However, the Somali National Army (SNA) and the local defense forces continue to carry out intensified operations against Al-Shabab militants in Middle Shabelle province.
