The Somali National Army (SNA), in collaboration with local defense forces known as Ma’awisley, conducted a planned operation on Tuesday in the Moqokori district and Yaasooman settlement in Hiiraan province. The operation was well-coordinated and targeted Al-Shabab operatives who were observed moving in Yaasooman. The allied troops received intelligence reports from Al-Shabab and successfully ambushed the operatives in an area near Yaasooman. The operation resulted in heavy casualties for Al-Shabab, with five members eliminated, one AK-47 seized, and a combat vehicle destroyed.
