Security Minister says that Ahmed Madobe will only attend the consultative meeting if he reverses his re-election as Jubaland leader

The Security Minister of Somali Federal Gov’t Gen. Abdilahi Ismail Fartag has said that Jubaland regional President will not attend the Consultative meeting where Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud called for the regional leaders to the convention.

Mr. Fartag stated that Ahmed Madobe will only attend the Consultative Meeting if he reverses his last controversial election where he was elected as Jubaland leader.

The security minister further stated that the Somali Federal Gov’t termed Ahmed Madobe’s re-election as the leader of Jubaland null and void.

He revealed that the recent election in Kismayo was fake and was not in line with the laws of the country’s constitution.

He told that the upcoming local council elections which will based on one-man one-vote will be held six settlements in Gedo region and two settlements in Lower Jubba region.

He disclosed further that if Ahmed Madobe rejects that elections will be held in Kismayo and Afmadow, the Somali Federal Gov’t will hold the elections in six settlements in Gedo region.
