Puntland President, Mr. Saed Abdilahi Deni, held a high-level meeting on Sunday with Ethiopian Consul, Major General Tagessse Lambamo Dombore, accompanied by senior Ethiopian military officials. The meeting, which took place at Puntland’s Presidential Palace, focused on strengthening the strategic cooperation between Ethiopia and Puntland, particularly in the areas of counterterrorism and regional development. President Deni expressed gratitude to the Ethiopian delegation for their visit and emphasized the importance of working together to enhance stability and security in the region. The Ethiopian delegation also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation with regional states in Somalia. This meeting follows a previous gathering where President Deni held a secret meeting with Ethiopian Intelligence officials during their visit to Garowe, the provincial capital of Nugaal. Ethiopian troops are currently stationed in various parts of Somalia, including Baidoa, as part of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
