Puntland Security Forces on Monday have discovered more than 10 corpses of ISIS fighters and their weapons after U.S. Africa Command conducted airstrikes targeting ISIS members in Togga Miiraale in Bari region.
Sources within Puntland security forces have confirmed that documents belonging to ISIS fighters in Somalia were also discovered.
Officers of Puntland security forces have expressed thanks and appreciations to the United States conducting the airstrikes targeting ISIS fighters in Somalia.
The officers further said that the airstrikes have weakened the operational capabilities of ISIS group in Somalia.
Puntland Security Forces officer who requested anonymity said that the United States has greatly assisted in dismantling ISIS bases.
The airstrikes were carried out after classified information was obtained indicating that ISIS members were mobilizing and regrouping in Togga Miiraale.
Puntland Security Forces are currently conducting operations which aimed at ensuring the security and are in search of ISIS remnants.
