Puntland President Rejects to attend the National Consultative Conference

Puntland regional President, Saed Abdilahi Deni on Saturday has revealed that Puntland will not participate the National Consultative Conference unless the Somali Federal Gov’t honors what has been previously agreed upon.

He accused the Somali Federal Gov’t of being responsible for walking out the Consultative Conference held in December, 2024 after the Somali Federal Gov’t deviated from what has been unanimously agreed on particularly the constitution issues.

He told that Puntland stands to protect the agreements in line with the country’s constitution.

He added that it is unacceptable to operate outside of the terms that have been agreed on.

Puntland President made the remarks after attending the graduation of units of Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF).

He spoke about the fight against insurgents in Somalia.

He disclosed that the operation dubbed Hillaac which was underway in Puntland and which was aimed to flush out ISIS fighters from Al-Miskaad Mountain Range will be wrapped up.

He further stated that Puntland will launch an operation dubbed Onkod which will be aimed to eradicate Al-Shabab militants stationed in Al-Madow Mountian in Sanaag region.

He announced that once operations which are aimed to flush out insurgents from Puntland, his authority will send troops to South Somalia to be part of the offensive against Al-Shabab militants.
