A mother and her child lost their lives and four other children were wounded after Al-shabab militants last night fired mortars onto residential areas in Baidoa, the regional capital of Southwest state.
Local residents told that three mortars struck in Wadajir village. One of the mortars landed a residence which caused anxiety and panic among the residents.
Southwest state authority has not so far issued a statement reagrding the mortar attacks.
No group has claimed the responsibility of carrying out the attack but Al-Shabab militants conduct similar attacks.
