The Specially Trained forces belonging to the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) conducted a planned operation in Sabiid settlement in Lower Shabelle province and killed senior Al-Shabab leader who was responsible for planning mortar attacks that transpired in Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital since 2023.
NISA Specially trained soldiers were closely monitoring the movement of Al-shabab leaders and carried out the operation after information pertaining to his whereabouts has been confirmed.
The statement from NISA further revealed that all his bodyguards of the Al-Shabab leader were killed with him during the operation.
On the other hand, NISA forces carried out at least six airstrikes yesterday afternoon and last night which took place in El-Hareeri settlement in Hiiraan region.
It is also confirmed that 46 Al-Shabab fighters including senior leaders who were hiding in an area were killed.
NISA has so far escalated planned operations targeting the militant group of Al-shabab.
The Director of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Abdulalhi Mohamed Ali alias Sanbalooshe is currently in the frontlines for the past two days where operations to flush out Al-shabab are underway in Hiiraan region.
